TOPIC: The NeverEnding Story: Participate In

TEXT: Luke 1.26-55 (New International Version)

How Can I Participate in the Story?

1.Know the STORY.  Mary felt more assured that everything was okay because she knew God’s story.

2.Know your ROLE.  If you are either young or old, big or little, male or female, God has a role for you and the sooner you know it the quicker you will be able to participate in the story.

3.Don’t be AFRAID.  It had to be scary for Mary to tell her parents and Joseph about the new role she found herself in but that didn’t stop her.  Don’t let fear hinder you from doing what God wants you to do.

4.Just DO IT!  Most of us are really good at coming up with excuses.  Stop!  Instead of putting all your energy into excuse-making, just do what God asks you to do.

Lake Ann–Day #2 Lesson

Thought I would share the points from Day #2′s Chapel lesson.

Ken Rudolph spoke on the Life of Joseph.  Here is his outline:

Living Life From God’s Perspective

Genesis 37-50

  • God uses terrible things in your life for something great.
  • You must have the perspective that God is doing something special in your life.
  • When you know God, you know He is just and fair.
  • God prepares us in very unique ways.
  • Can you trust God for 13 years while in difficult circumstances?
  • The only one who can mess up your life is you!

Second Day in St. Louis

September 20, 2008 By: Ryan Category: Family

The day started late–if 8:00 am is late!

We quickly headed out to Soulard Farmer’s Market which is downtown.

The market is full of amazing stuff.  Produce of course, but also bread, flowers, fish and pasta.  It was a lot of fun to walk down the aisles.

Next stop–The Gateway Arch!!  Due to my fear of tight places, we didn’t go up in the arch, but the museum, gift shop and the monument itself was simply amazing.

From there we headed over to Union Station.  We grabbed a bunch of signs for the EPIC Room and then had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe.

We knew we had to hurry because we only had 46 minutes on our parking meter.  Unfortunately we didn’t make it but we did get a nifty souvenir!!

Back to the hotel we went to grab a nap.

After a much needed rest we headed downtown to Joseph’s Italian Bar.  The food was absolutely amazing!

We then quickly headed back to change our shoes and headed across the street to Forest Park to see what the Glow at the Park was all about.  We didn’t have a clue about what we were going to encounter and boy were we surprised!

Here we were, standing in a field with 60 hot air balloons–oh and couple 100,000 people.

The scene was amazing and night ended perfectly as we watched fireworks blossom over the balloons.

What a packed but amazing day!
