This week was our fourth installment of the Heroes series in EPIC. We looked at the life of Noah. Two things we wanted to get out of the story: 1) What to do when a flood comes, 2) Lessons from Noah.
1) What to do when a flood comes
A. Trust God
Believe God and believe that what He says is true!
B. Obey God
Don’t only believe God but put that belief in action by obeying His Word!
C. Don’t Give in!
When the crowd begins to criticize–be reminded that the only opinion that matters is God’s!
2) Lesson from Noah
A. Don’t miss the boat.
B. Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the Ark.
C. Don’t listen to critics; just do the job that needs to be done.
D. Build your future on high ground.
E. Speed isn’t always an advantage.
F. When you’re stressed, float a while.
G. Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
H. No matter the storm, when you are with God, there’s always a rainbow waiting.
Guaranteed that, if it hasn’t already, the floodwaters will rise and you will be given a choice: trust and obey God OR listen to the world and lose out on God’s blessing!
My home state of Indiana is under water.

I just talked to my mom who is a 2nd grade teacher. She had just received word that her classroom had water reaching just six inches below the ceiling. She has lost 13 years worth of teaching material and a lifetime worth of memories.
Please pray for the people of Indiana as they try to salvage what they can.
