Well Done Good and Faithful Servant

August 25, 2009 By: Ryan Category: God, Personal

I have been wrestling lately with the one question:  What do I need to do to hear God tell me, “Well done good and faithful servant”?

The question comes after reading Matthew 25:14-30.

When I get to Heaven I so want to hear those words, but what is the criteria for such an honor?

In particular, I have been asking this question is three areas of my life, as a parent, church leader and as a youth pastor.

As a parent, what must I do to hear the words, “Well done good and faithful servant”?

As a church leader, what must I do to hear the words, “Well done good and faithful servant”?

And as a youth pastor, what must I do to hear the words, “Well done good and faithful servant”?

Until I know, I am doing the best I can to be faithful in each of those roles and pursue what I believe God wants from me in each.

As of right now, I am anxiously anticipating the sound of my Father saying “Well done good and faithful servant.”

EPIC LEAD Team

July 27, 2009 By: Ryan Category: Leadership, Ministry Blogs

After a summer of planning, praying and interviewing, we have put together what we believe is a Dream LEAD Team.  Our LEAD team consists of students who model the following characteristics:lead team logo

  • Faithful
  • Available
  • Teachable
  • Discipling
  • Non-Comfortable (meaning they are willing to step out their comfort zone)

These students aren’t perfect, but they are working to develop each of these five characteristics in their life.  They make up our 2009-2010 EPIC LEAD Team:

  • Tanner Bleedorn
  • Evan Coane
  • Caleb Hammock
  • Eva Hyder
  • Anna Jamieson
  • Elizabeth Martin

The PURPOSE of the LEAD Team is to team up with the youth pastor and adult leadership team, to encourage their peers to live a godly life, to accept all those who enter our ministry doors, and to model a godly life by patterning their life after 1Timothy 4:12.

Please remember these students in your prayers as they seek to glorify God by serving others.
