May 27, 2010 By: Ryan Category: Leadership, Personal

I love to read.  My bank account shows that.  I am constantly buying new books.  Now that school is done for me for the summer, I have time to read books that I have had pile up.  Here are some of the books I plan on reading in the next few weeks:

Simple Youth Ministry by Eric Geiger and Jeff Borton

simply youth ministry

Awaken Your Creativity by Les Christie

awaken your creativity

The Slow Fade by Reggie Joiner, Chuck Bomar, and Abbie Smith

the slow fade

Connect:  Real Relationships in a World of Isolation by Jonathan McKee

connect

Are there any good books you have planned to read this summer?  I would love to see the list!!

It is things like this that absolutely break my heart and infuriate me all at the same time.

Recently Read Books

August 22, 2009 By: Ryan Category: Culture, Personal

Do to a couple of things that have come up recently in my studies and in my life I have found myself reading back to back Jon Krakauer books.  The two books I have just finished reading are:

Into the Wild

into the wild

Into the Wild is the story of Chris McCandless.  It is an extremely fascinating story.  One I encourage all to read.  It is also a quick and very easy read.

Under the Banner of Heaven

UnderTheBannerOfHeaven

Under the Banner of Heaven is a not only a vivid account of the murder of a mother and her 15 month old daughter by the hands of two brothers, it is also a great historical explanation of the Mormon church.  I have really enjoyed reading how the church came into being and where it stands today.

Both of these books have been great reads.  Looking forward to tackling the other books sitting on my desk.
