Next Three Steps of EPIC
Tonight was one of the most amazing EPICs we have had. After some good dodgeball, we sat down and asked the question, "what can we do to bring people to EPIC (get our name out there) and to keep them once they are here.
Here are some of the things we came up with:
1. We MUST come to EPIC bringing all that God has taught us during the week.
It is not always about being fed but feeding others as well. We can not expect to do feed unless we have ben fed ourselves. We often times come to church/EPIC with the thought that we are going to get all of our feeding there and expect then to grow and be vibrant as a Christian. Is this true of our physical self? Can we eat once a week and expect to live and be well the rest of the week? Of course not!!! So why then do we expect it to be different with our spiritual life?
2. We MUST have unconditional love for EVERY person that walks through our doors.
This means two things: 1) Every person, no matter what they look like, how they act, what their personality is, needs to find a place that is loving and accepting! If they don’t get this at EPIC they will try to get it from the world. 2) We can’t love people just at EPIC. We must do everything we can to connect to them outside of the walls of EPIC. People must know we care about them, not just on Sundays and Wednesdays but EVERY day!!
3. We MUST be excited about being with another.
When we are around one another, either at EPIC, at an EPIC event, or just hanging out, we should be genuinely excited to be around each other. There should be this sense of family–a loving family–that secretes from every pore of our body. In fact, there should be this sense that when we are not with one another, we are not complete. We are called the BODY of Christ for a reason. We should therefore, be excited to not only a part of the Body but be excited when we are connected with the Body!!
My prayer is that these steps we talked about tonight, aren’t soon forgotten. But rather, lived and breathed through each and every one of us.
Thank you EPIC students for allowing me to be part of each of your lives and to be a part of this exciting ministry!!!
