Flood

North Central Ohio was hit hard the past couple of days with high winds and lots of rain. Monday, which is my day off, we sat in the living room while a tornado passed exactly one mile south of our house. Isaac was a little concerned as we sat on the couch watching the weather report and then hearing the warning sirens blaring in Lexington. As the power went out debris began to hit the windows in the living and dining rooms. Anna began to get the boys and head to the basement as I got up ready to get Emma from her peaceful afternoon slumber. And then in a moment the power came back on and the wind immediately stopped and I do mean stopped! I picture it as what probably took place when Jesus stood in the boat and calmed the storm–it was immediate and peaceful. Two minutes later, emergency vehicles screamed passed the house as the closed off State Route 42 right in front of house. Why? Because exactly one mile south a tornado had ripped across the road and left a small yet damaging path of destruction.
If that wasn’t enough, the next day we were slammed with rain and immediately our town (Lexington) and surrounding towns (Bucyrus and most damaged, Shelby) were all under water. I am currently trying to a video uploaded of me fighting a ‘raging’ current across one of main roads in Lexington.
Anyway, all is well as we dry out. Pray for the many people who have lost treasured belonging and even homes during this time.
